Vintage Egyptian revival bronze sphinx candlesticks by Milo
Reawaken the arcane majesty of ancient Egypt with this pair of bronze sphinxes. These striking candlesticks were sculpted (and signed) by the Portuguese artist Milo. Born in 1955, Milo has sculpted a variety of mythological figures including satyrs, angels, devils, and green men. Each bronze is mounted on a black marble base.
This pair is used but certainly not antique, and their age is currently being researched. They were likely cast by the German manufacturer Kunst and Ambiente. They are in excellent used condition, although one appears to lean slightly to the left. One is darker than the other.
They each measure 3" wide, 8 3/4" tall, and 4" deep, and weigh just over 7 pounds as a pair.
